Baby Shoot

Photo shooting babies is new to me but it is so much fun especially knowing the parents as well. Ryder Waterman came into the world about a month early but it was cool to show up at the hospital just as he was born and see him wheeled into the nursery a few minutes later. Proud parents, Cody & Amanda are the residence hall supervisors for our girls in Kenoyer Hall at Manhattan Christian College. They do such a great job handling 70+ girls! I have had the pleasure to see Cody & Amanda's love grow from dating to marriage to parenthood...that's the joy I have in my other job & ministry at the college.

I remember when Amanda told me last year that they were expecting their first kid and to see the excitement on her face was priceless. Of course Cody is such a proud daddy too! He was beaming the night Ryder was born (even in his hospital wardrobe). Praise God that Ryder has done such a great job for being a preemie.

Of course I was hoping to photo shoot Ryder soon but thanks to Cathy Mores Photography it came a little earlier than I expected (and I got to use my new camera...Nikon d300!!). Cathy does such a great job at photography as well as graphic design and she was looking for newborns to shoot using some of her new props. So what better model than Ryder! It worked out great for her and it was awesome to be able to shoot such a cute baby and a wonderful young family.

A little yawn for the camera!

Such a proud & loving daddy!

Nephew Time

At the end of the summer I had my oldest nephew Jaydon stay with me a few days in Manhattan. We had a lot of fun together as this was the first time to have him stay with me by himself. One evening we decided to go to the lake and immediately Jaydon started acting like a young boy...throwing rocks into the lake! It was so much fun to watch him try to pick up the biggest rock and see how far he could throw it.

It's a lot of fun taking pictures of little kids especially the ones you love the most!!

My dog Genesis came along for the adventure!!
