Sanford Family

I thought I would end the year with one of my favorite photo shoots this year...my sister & nephews! How can you beat that?...you can't!!

Late in the summer I traveled to my hometown of Garden City, KS and told my sister to be ready for a photo shoot of her and the boys. We traveled around to places I had not been to in years and we had a blast. Looking at these now, in the dead of winter, makes me want springtime to come sooner than later too!!

I think these are the greatest boys in the world and I can't wait to see how God molds and shapes them in the years to come. Enjoy & Happy New Year everyone!!

They love their momma!!

The Wendt Family

Starting my own photography business is exciting especially when I can take pictures of great friends. I have known the Wendt's for about 15 years now. Devin and April were my dorm parents back in college and now Devin is my pastor at Crestveiw Christian Church.

For this shoot we decided to walk around Kansas State University's campus in the brisk cool fall breeze. It was fun walking around putting on coats and taking them off right before we took pictures. We ended the shoot at Manhattan Christian College's Jolliffe Hall library. I love the Wendt's and they definitely love each other. Thier girls are beautiful and were a blast to capture through the lens of my camera.

Kansas City Plaza Paparazzi

Last weekend Chris Hsieh of La Brisa Photography came back to Kansas City and a group of photographers met up to have dinner and then hit the plaza to do some great shooting. We all had a blast! It was great meeting so many excellent photographers from the KC & Manhattan area. It was also great to meet back up with Chris & Brandi...back to great times & memories of the past summer!

Wasn't expecting to catch a ghost walking in front of the camera...ha!

Trying some different things with my flash and lenses that Chris taught me.

Baby Shoot

Photo shooting babies is new to me but it is so much fun especially knowing the parents as well. Ryder Waterman came into the world about a month early but it was cool to show up at the hospital just as he was born and see him wheeled into the nursery a few minutes later. Proud parents, Cody & Amanda are the residence hall supervisors for our girls in Kenoyer Hall at Manhattan Christian College. They do such a great job handling 70+ girls! I have had the pleasure to see Cody & Amanda's love grow from dating to marriage to parenthood...that's the joy I have in my other job & ministry at the college.

I remember when Amanda told me last year that they were expecting their first kid and to see the excitement on her face was priceless. Of course Cody is such a proud daddy too! He was beaming the night Ryder was born (even in his hospital wardrobe). Praise God that Ryder has done such a great job for being a preemie.

Of course I was hoping to photo shoot Ryder soon but thanks to Cathy Mores Photography it came a little earlier than I expected (and I got to use my new camera...Nikon d300!!). Cathy does such a great job at photography as well as graphic design and she was looking for newborns to shoot using some of her new props. So what better model than Ryder! It worked out great for her and it was awesome to be able to shoot such a cute baby and a wonderful young family.

A little yawn for the camera!

Such a proud & loving daddy!

Nephew Time

At the end of the summer I had my oldest nephew Jaydon stay with me a few days in Manhattan. We had a lot of fun together as this was the first time to have him stay with me by himself. One evening we decided to go to the lake and immediately Jaydon started acting like a young boy...throwing rocks into the lake! It was so much fun to watch him try to pick up the biggest rock and see how far he could throw it.

It's a lot of fun taking pictures of little kids especially the ones you love the most!!

My dog Genesis came along for the adventure!!
